NATIONAL PAN-HELLENIC COUNCIL
That National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) promotes interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions. The stated purpose and mission of the organization is “Unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of Greek letter collegiate fraternities and sororities, and to consider problems of mutual interest to its member organizations.”
Each organization of the National Pan-Hellenic Council conducts a formal Membership Intake Process. Fraternities and Sororities typically host Informational/Rush meetings once per semester, where potential new members are able to attend and learn more about the respective organization. Thereafter, potential new members learn the requirements for membership of the fraternity or sorority. Not all organizations conduct intake each semester and the duration of each organization’s intake process varies.
